July 6, 2021This document aims to systematize the lessons learned and results derived from the implementation of the first phase of the Active Communities Fund, particularly regarding the experiences of the more than 35 communities involved in the initiative. This first phase was launched in July 2020 by Comunalia, the Alliance of Community Foundations of Mexico, and the Coca-Cola Mexico Foundation in response to the impacts of the COVID-19 crisis in the country.
The purpose of this document is to highlight the main results, challenges, and lessons learned from the coordinated efforts of community foundations, civil society organizations, and grassroots groups in the target communities to support social and economic recovery in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic in the country. As such, the document is intended for the various stakeholders in the philanthropy ecosystem who are interested in learning more about the intervention experience of a social investment fund involving diverse actors across 14 states in Mexico.
